PlateLens emails: preferences and unsubscribe
PlateLens sends emails about getting started, building the habit, getting back on track after a break and reaching milestones. They come from hello@updates.platelens.app and go to the email address of the Google or Apple account you use to sign in. Every email has a Preferences link and an Unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Which emails you receive
Getting started
A welcome after you set up PlateLens, and a few reminders while your profile or your first logged meal is still pending. If your profile is complete but you have not logged a meal yet, occasional emails over the following months suggest an easy first meal.
Your first weeks
Short tips after your first logged meal, such as how to correct an estimate in a sentence and what your first week of logging shows.
When you stop logging
If you stop logging, emails help you start again with one meal: quick ways to log, a note from your coach or a small challenge. They come more often at first and then further apart.
When you come back
When you log a meal after three or more days away, a few emails during your first week back help you keep going. After a break of a month or more, they continue for about a month.
After a long time away
If you have not logged for a long time, you receive about one email a month. Some accounts that have been inactive for a while first receive a short welcome-back series of three emails.
Milestones and your league
When you reach 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 or 365 logged days, an email celebrates the milestone that evening. If you log regularly, an email can also invite you to join your weekly league or to add someone you know to it.
Your anniversary
On the anniversary of your account, if you have not logged for a month or more, an email marks the date.
Which emails you get depends on what you have done in the app, so not every account receives every email. Logging a meal stops the emails that asked you to log one.
Some emails show the name of your PlateLens coach next to PlateLens as the sender. Emails use the language of your PlateLens profile: Spanish if you use PlateLens in Spanish, English otherwise.
PlateLens sends these emails between 8:00 and 21:00 in the time zone of your PlateLens profile, with a maximum of one a day (two on the day you log your first meal) and at least three hours between them.
Change your email preferences
- Open any PlateLens email.
- Select Preferences at the bottom, or Choose here in the last line of the email.
- On the page that opens, choose whether to keep receiving PlateLens emails and save your choice.
The preferences page opens on mailing.platelens.app. You do not need to sign in.
Unsubscribe in one click
If your email app shows an Unsubscribe button next to the sender, as Gmail does, you can use it: it unsubscribes you in one step.
You can also select Unsubscribe at the bottom of any PlateLens email. On the page that opens, untick PlateLens - Email and select Save Preferences.
Unsubscribing stops every PlateLens email from hello@updates.platelens.app. PlateLens checks your choice right before sending each email, so a scheduled email that has not gone out yet is not sent. An email that was already on its way when you unsubscribed can still arrive. Your account, your data, the app and its notifications do not change.
To receive PlateLens emails again, open Preferences in an earlier PlateLens email and turn them back on.
If PlateLens emails do not arrive
- Check your spam folder and, in Gmail, the Promotions tab.
- Check the email address of the Google or Apple account you use to sign in to PlateLens. If you chose to hide your email when signing in with Apple, your PlateLens account uses the private address Apple created for you instead of your usual email address.
- If you unsubscribed earlier, turn PlateLens emails back on from Preferences in an earlier email.
- Remember that emails follow what you do in the app: an account that has already logged meals no longer receives the getting-started reminders.
If something still looks wrong, contact Support with the approximate date of the email and the address that received it. Do not send passwords or authentication codes.
